Recent Rules and Decisions

Consent Discipline:

MOTTER, DAVID J. (Metairie), 2021-B-1779 (4/12/22): The Court suspended the respondent for three years, with all but one year and one day deferred, for neglecting legal matters, failing to communicate with clients, failing to promptly refund unearned fees, engaging in the unauthorized practice of law, engaging in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation, and failing to cooperate with ODC’s investigation.

ELWELL, TARA (Lafayette), 2022-B-0390 (4/20/22): The Court suspended the respondent for eighteen months, with all but six months deferred, for charging and failing to account for an excessive legal fee.

CUSIMANO, NICHOLAS, SR. (Chalmette), 2022-B-0270 (4/5/22): The Court suspended the respondent for one year and one day, fully deferred, based upon his arrest for driving while intoxicated.
