Amendment to Rule 1.15 of the Rules of Professional Conduct

The Louisiana Supreme Court has amended Rule 1.15 of the Rules of Professional Conduct. Please see the Court’s order for more details.



Recent Rules and Decisions

IN RE GEORGE ALLEN ROTH WALSH (Baton Rouge), 2021-B-00280 (6/29/21): The Court disbarred the respondent for practicing law after he was suspended, failing to advise his client of his suspension, and fraudulently filing pleadings under his father’s name and bar roll number in an effort to conceal his unauthorized practice of law. The factual allegations in the formal charges were deemed admitted pursuant to Louisiana Supreme Court Rule XIX, §11(E)(3).

IN RE KEVIN C. SCHOENBERGER (New Orleans), 2021-B-00191 (6/30/21): The Court suspended the respondent for one year and one day, with all but sixty days deferred, for mismanaging his trust account and backdating trust account checks in order to mislead ODC.

IN RE CECELIA F. ABADIE (Hammond), 2020-B-01276 (6/29/2021): Rehearing denied.
