The Louisiana Attorney Disciplinary Board offers a Summer and a Fall/Spring externship for law students. Externs provide legal research and writing support for the Board and/or the Board’s Hearing Committees in lawyer discipline matters. Externs will also have the opportunity to observe lawyer discipline hearings and oral argument, and assist with special research projects. Externs will work in the Board’s office in Metairie, Louisiana.
The application deadline for the Summer and the Fall/Spring externship is March 31st. Applicants shall complete the application below and submit a cover letter, resume, writing sample, and transcript. The application and attachments can be mailed to the attention of Elizabeth Cordes at the address below or emailed to ecordes@LADB.org.
Law students interested in applying for the externship should also contact the externship coordinator at their law school to inquire about any additional requirements the law school may have.
